What is love?
Love is beautiful, love is kind, love is harsh but it’s something we all desire. It’s been around since the beginning of time. Everyone and everything experiences love in some shape form or fashion. We all desire to be with someone that makes us happy because with that person we hope that we can find love. Growing up, my family showed me many different forms of love. Love doesn’t just have to be with emotion, it can be with gifts or just simple acts of kindness. I was taught that you treat others how you want to be treated. Life wasn’t always easy growing up because my parents divorced when I was young, but they showed me that no matter where they ended up, the love they had for their children would stay. The philosophy of love is the field of social philosophy and ethics that attempts to explain the nature of love. Religion plays a big part in our view of love. The number one thing that is true is that we are supposed to love our mother and father. We should love our neighbor and most importantly love our god. Marriage is wonderful thing because it represents two people coming to together to form one. A lot of times their religious beliefs must be the same to be able to marry. Sometimes the love is so strong that even religion

Forms of love?
A lot of people think that love must be expressed between a man and a woman, but it is much more then that. Love is given and received in many ways. Friendships are a form a love because we may not be in love with that person, but we love that person is if they were family. Sports are a form a love because they can bring a lot of joy when we do them or watch them. I myself am a big Tennessee Titans fan and love my team to death. A lot would consider myself to be a super fan but I’m not in love with the team itself. Love is what makes us human and has been something philosophers have all experienced in their time. Platonic love as devised by Plato concerns rising through levels of closeness to wisdom and true beauty from carnal attraction to individual bodies to attraction to souls, and eventually, union with the truth. Love has changed over the years and continues to change today.

How has loved changed?
Love was always meant to be between a man and a woman. It has been that way since Adam and Eve but since has changed. With time, those beliefs have transformed into something more. Love is no longer described between just man and woman. This generation has endorsed the fact that love is love. It should not be hindered by what sex you are but what your heart feels. Its also changed in the fact that love is harder to sustain. Social media has really hurt the idea of what love is. The commitment between two people seems to be less and less due to distractions within the relationship. I look at my grandparents and see two people that have been together for 45 years. This has to do with the generation they grew up with but also that love meant something back in that era. I see more and more people fall in love and then break up or divorce quickly. This makes me question did they truly love that person. If it’s real love, then nothing should come between and love would overcome.
